About this event

Before Taylor and Travis, there was Susan and Francis. Taylor’s great-great-great grandparents, who hailed from Derry, emigrated in 1836 aboard the same ship, and married three years later, making Taylor something of a Derry Girl.

In 2024, ahead of Taylor’s sold-out Eras Tour, the Irish Family History Centre did some digging into the popstar’s genealogy. Turned out there was more to the singer’s love of Aran jumpers and the Irish druid aesthetic for her 2020 album Folklore than just preference – there’s Irish in her blood.

As a result of the research, a specialised themed tour for Swifties was created; the EPIC Museum, seen through a fresh lens, by uncovering the roots of one Miss Taylor Alison Swift, and her many connections to Ireland, whether it’s the inspiration behind one of her albums, her fashion sense, or her lyricism.

The Irish Family History Centre is available to assist visitors in their genealogy journey, based on-site at EPIC.
